How has acting for Christ blessed your life

I wrote this letter to my daughters
 after an amazing day
I hope you enjoy reading it too.

After exercising at the gym with the sister missionaries from 6-7 am
I spent the day in a zone conference missionary training from 9-4
It was amazing!
It filled me with the Spirit and I was feeling on top of the world.

On my way home was behind a truck that was stalled, at first I moved to the right to get out of their way but then felt prompted to help them.
I remembered Ken had left the tow chain in the back of the Tahoe for the past week or so.

So I got out offered my help
when they accepted I pulled in front of them and backed up. In my dress I helped them hook up the chain on my trailer hitch so it would not slip. They couldn't find a place to hook it to their truck so I had the idea to pop the hood and hook it to what ever held the engine in place. It worked.
The police officer named Chad gave us permission to tow as well as gave us an escort all the way to their house in Lake Mountain estates.

I told the son who was my passenger that it was his job to pray that no one would get in front of us and all the streetlights would stay green! I also told him that I was a ward missionary  for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and asked if he would like us to come over and teach him a 15 min lesson about Jesus Christ. He said YES!!!! He wrote down his name and phone number on the back of one of my business cards.

The step father in the truck did an outstanding job being the "break" while we towed. (He had been a truck driver)
The neighbor saw that I was a girl and said, you must have been a farm girl to know how to do that.
I just smiled and said my husband owns old cars and they break down a lot so they taught me how to tow, and laughed a little.

The he said I was a Savior and I said I was acting for the Savior just for the day.

The tried to give me money but I refused.
I'd much rather have the blessing of doing something good for someone in need.

Once I got to work, I called Beryl (Grandma) and asked for her missionaries phone number 860-6955 since they live in their ward.
The missionaries came to the Gym and picked up the card with Scott's phone # on it and I wrote inside a Book of Mormon that I had with me. It's the one I keep at the gym to read while I exercise each morning.

I pray that the Missionaries will have success and that they will accept help not just for their broken truck but to better their lives.

I know you may think I am crazy
but you do what the Spirit directs you to do, and it always turns out alright.
love, mom

May God bless each of us as we share what we love with the people we meet

The real Treasure in our Late Night Stamper treasure hunt blog hop
is getting to work with so many creative friends to share what we love with our parts of the world.
I challenge each of us as we create cards and blog about them and pin them that we take one each day and give it away.
Find someone who could use a little encouragement, a kind note, a bit more laughter...
As you give them away tell us about it here.
(please comment below and feel free to leave your blog address in your comment as well)
I will use these testimonials in a blog post I would like to do about our late night stamper group members.
Showing that we do more than just make cards, we give a little bit of ourselves to others each and every day.

We have a purpose driven life. We have a NEED to feel like what we are doing matters to someone.

Yesterday I gave away this card. I gave it along with a dress a slip and a t-shirt so this lady could come join us at church. The sister missionaries and I had been teaching her about the gospel of Jesus Christ and she seemed very receptive but said when we invited her to go to church that she did not own a dress of any kind.
She could have come to church wearing pants but I know she would feel more comfortable being dressed like all the other women. Our daughter had gone to college and left some clothes in her closet and so I called her and asked if I could give a few things of hers away. She said yes even before I offered to replace what I gave away of hers.

This lady may never come to church with us but now she has a dress and if she decides to go will feel better about it.
May each of us see the need in others and be able to serve them in a way that pleases God, the person we are serving and ourselves. I feels so good to share.
I am truly grateful for your friendship, for the ability we have been given to brighten others days by sharing our art with them.

May God bless you and all  you do for others,

Water color with ink refills - How to make little splatters

In the small side of my kitchen sink I soaked
half sheets of cardstock

I like to paint half sheets so that I have
enough to make 2 cards with each piece

I wore plastic gloves
this time
because blue and purple ink stains skin

To get the little spalatters of color
dip your brush into 2 colors at one time
then hit your brush on a butter knife, a wooden spoon
or another brush

Here is a card I created with this paper

to get large bloches of color press your brush into the ink
and press it to the cardstock

add a bt more water with a spray bottle
and watch it blend together

red (pink) and blue make purple

while it is wet you can press another cardstock to it and pick up the colors

rinse your sink out and have fun creating with
your new backgrounds when they are dry

Check your Food Storage - Check dates of the foods you donate - Recycle

The bags got dropped off Wednesday night
Bag pick up is Saturday September 14th

Each year when the Emergency Aid food drive starts in Boulder City Nevada
I take the time to
Check my Food Storage

I look for cans with dates that has expired
I look for bulging cans
cans with leaks, drips, and dents

I don't know how I missed this can last year
it was in the far back corner of my shelves

a sure sign the food may not be safe is a hissing sound when you open the can
If the food is discolored
has bits of aluminum can on them
don't even taste it, just put it down your disposal

Rinse your cans out and Recycle them

Please check your dates before you donate
food to your food pantry
Make sure the dates are not already expired

I know our food pantry gets a lot of yams
and cranberry sauce that people have left over
from the year before.

Think about your friends who have lost their job
and need help feeding their families during
their trial.
Foods like Cereal, Macaroni and Cheese, Milk, eggs
peanut butter, pancake mix and syrup
are in high demand.

Our food pantry has refrigerators for
your milk and egg donations

They open at 9:30 am and
stay open until 11:00 am each day
if you want to buy something
while you are at the store
and drop it off.

May God bless everyone
who donates food to feed the hungry

and
May God also bless
families suffering from
unemployment to find work
to help them provide for their family.
